Maintenance Logistics For Aircraft Not Based At One Of Our Maintenance Bases
If you are not based at one of our maintenance bases it is understandable that you may have worries about how you will organise transport for your maintenance visits. Please see below for details of our available solutions to such problems which all form part of our commitment to our customers in order that you receive a hassle free and "all things considered" service.
If your visit to Silverstar is just for a regular service or some minor defect rectification we will always aim to complete your maintenance in the same day therefore allowing you to fly back home once the work is completed. Our team of dedicated engineers will do all they can to facilitate this for you even if unexpected problems occur.
If your maintenance will take more than a day we can arrange to take you back to your base airfield as part of our service. We have a range of aircraft available to us thanks to our partnership with Aircraft Grouping Ltd so we can usually accommodate aircraft availability for the task of taking you home. Alternatively, if your base airfield is nearby we can also return you by surface transport.
Technical
Problems At Your Own Airfield Or Down Route
If you are not based at Blackpool or Manchester Barton and a technical problem occurs at your base airfield or if you experience problems whilst down route on a flight we can come to your rescue like the AA! Thanks to our partnership with Aircraft Grouping and our various Flight Academy flying schools we are able to fly in, visit your aircraft on site and attempt to get you airborne again. If the aircraft becomes grounded we can get you home!
Whatever the reason for needing one of our aircraft, whether it is to take you home when you leave your aircraft with us, come and rescue you when you're stranded or simply lend you an aircraft whilst yours is in for maintenance, we can normally accommodate with one of our spare aircraft. Flying clubs and commercial operators may benefit from borrowing a similar type aircraft from us for some time whilst their aircraft is in for maintenance. If we have a spare aircraft available we are pleased to provide it at rates which are only a fraction above cost price.
For all courtesy aircraft requirements please request them with us where possible in good time. We will then co-ordinate with our partner companies to try to provide the service you require and obtain a costing for you regarding the use of any aircraft. All rates charged will be a fraction above cost price and will be subject to availability.
